I HAD to say something...

If there's one thing I should know by now, it's that babies like to make liars out of their parents.

Last night Cullen didn't go to bed until around 10, and he kept getting up and fussing. He did wake around 2 to eat and went back to sleep after some convincing, but was up again at 4:30 being fussy, and back to sleep, and up again at 6 all stuffed up. Today I'm finally going to get that humidifier.

The good news is that I did get to enjoy a beer and some couple time with my dear husband.

I wonder if this is still from the shots on Thursday? All the fussing? Well anyway. My master calls...

Cullen's Two Month Old Schedule

This will only be interesting to other parents of two month olds, and ME in the future.

Cullen has been having a morning nap sort of...any time, and he has a long afternoon nap (not sure when this starts or if it is ever the same) but he always gets up when we are getting ready to eat and is fussy until he goes to bed around 8:30. Then he gets up around 2 to eat, and sleeps another four hours.

Dawning of a New Era?

So you know how Cullen went to bed shortly after the girls went to bed last night? WELL, he slept happily until 2:30am, ate a little bit, and then went back to bed until 7am! Not only that, but I didn't have to painstakingly rock and hum and jiggle him back to sleep and then gingerly put him in his crib. He was AWAKE-ish when I put him back in there! And he went back to sleep! Without crying!

This morning, I am not insanely tired! Who knows, I may even be able to handle bedtime tonight without having a mental breakdown.

Evenings Are Fun!

Tonight Mina decided she wasn't going to get ready for bed. At first I was apathetic. Then I was angry.

Leta passed out early, so at least she was out of the way, though she is always good about getting ready for bed.

Mina says it's not easy for her in this really whiny way that makes my blood boil. I tell her that as soon as she decides to do it, it appears to be quite easy for her. She just lays on the floor sometimes and refuses to cooperate. Maybe I'm being mean. But I'm not going to sit here and let her tell me she can't do something.

ANYWAY... Cullen was screaming so I decided to deal with him and Jason finished up with Mina. He was all nice and rational and I was glad he was there because if I had to go in there again it would have been to tell Mina I was running away and it was all her fault.

Yeah I have mean, dark thoughts like that.

Then I had laundry to do and Cullen was crying and crying. He was dry, he was burped, he was fed. He was just tired. So I decided to put him in his bed, saying if he was still crying by the time my basket of clothes was folded, I would go get him and rock him and jiggle him and all that stuff until he falls asleep. But guess what! He was asleep before I was halfway through folding my basket. Mina was five months old before I would even consider letting her cry for a minute. Leta never cried because she fell asleep the instant her little nose rubbed against fleece. She was also a tummy sleeper. I know, I know, back to sleep, yadda yadda.

Well reader, I hope you have a cozy Christmas full of laughter and love. Given my track record with this blog I probably won't update until after Christmas.

Good Morning, Internet!

I originally wrote "Bood Morning" because that's just how tired I am.

Actually, I shouldn't complain. Cullen slept SIX hours in a row! He's been doing that for a while now. He usually goes to bed around 11:30-12:30 and then is up around 5:30-6:30. Yesterday he was up too early, 4-ish, so I put him in the magic sleep machine, which is THIS MODERN WONDER.

He's been smiling more and more, and yesterday I SWEAR I heard a tiny baby chuckle. He's also been making some cooing sounds. It's nice to hear something other than crying!

A conversation at dinner last night:

Mina: Mom, are mushrooms healthy?
Hilary: Yes, I'm pretty sure they are.
Mina: What are they good for?
Hilary: Hmm. I'm not sure. Believe it or not, I don't know everything...
...
Mina: Mom, I kind of already know everything.
Leta: ME TOO! Mom, I kind of already know everything too.

Maybe I should just start posting here.

Nope, I just can't do it. It's too...public.

Here, you get the super filtered, watered down entries, which is why I never post. I don't have anything to say when you take away the personal stuff. See Jason? It's pointless. Now I know why you never write anything.

I don't have a choice. It's the only thing keeping things balanced upstairs. Well, that and the huffing. I'm JUST KIDDING! JEEZ! :P

Sigh. I'm going to bed.
